Herolds Bay Eco Resort Wedding Venue

The Restaurant, with the appropriated name “Down To Earth”, build with clay, straw and timber and provides a rugged but stylish interior with high wooden ceilings and stained glass gables. It also has a huge wooden deck overlooking the rolling green landscape with the blue Indian Ocean in the background. The restaurant provides traditional country style dishes including favourites like oven baked lam shank, deboned pork rib stuffed with dried fruit and bacon and brie parcels. The restaurant boasts its own wine cellar with a wide selection of handpicked South African wines. With a variety of yellow wood tables and blackwood chairs, the restaurant can seat up 100 guests. In the evening, when the last of the sun’s rays light up the stained glass gables, it really provides a spectacular setting.

The Bush Lapa, set in an African rustic theme, provides traditional food cooked on an open fire. The open-air setting is quite unique; one can sit around the fire, gaze at the stars, or have a captivating view of Mossel Bay in the distance. Two Oceans Restaurant

At 34°21´24˝ south, 18°29´51˝ east, Cape Point itself may be the most spectacular feature of the entire African coast. Jutting like a rocky knife into the Atlantic Ocean, its sheer cliffs plunge 200m into a churning white sea. The old lighthouse provides panoramic views of the point and both coastlines. This lighthouse is available for your wedding ceremony.

As you might expect from a lighthouse, it’s elevated, and the walk up to the viewpoint is a steep one. For anyone feeling less than fit or wanting to avoid the heat on a summer’s day, there’s a funicular (small tram) that’ll take you to the top in three minutes for a small fee.

The new lighthouse is visible further along the point. Its beam of 10 million candlepower (reduced from a former 19 million candlepower) shines for 63km to warn ships of the danger presented by the treacherous Cape Point. The walk out to the new lighthouse is quite long, but the views are rewarding throughout.

Diaz Beach at Cape Point is one of Cape Town’s most beautiful beaches. Accessible only on foot, a fifteen minute walk down the cliffs surrounding the sparkling white sand of the beach- Diaz Beach is a popular surf spot for its metronomic right break. But swimming is not recommended; the currents are dangerous, and the sea very cold.

The weather at Cape Point can be extreme and unpredictable. Ideally visit when the weather is good, and go early in the morning- in summer the wind often gets stronger as the day goes on. You’ll be hard pressed to find a day out from Cape Town that can beat the Cape Point Nature Reserve. In experiencing it you’ll probably come to appreciate how Sir Francis Drake described it in 1580:
“The most stately thing and the fairest Cape we saw in the whole circumference of the Earth.”

Southern Right whales are the most common visitor to False Bay, and frequently use this area as calving and nursery grounds. The whales are seen from early June up until the end of November, with the peak month being October. Two Oceans Restaurant provides excellent views of these whales, with occasional sightings of Bryde’s whales, and humpback whales. Dolphin species in the region include the Bottlenose dolphin, the Dusky dolphin, and the Heaviside’s dolphin (which is endemic to the west coast of Southern Africa)

Birkenhead House

Perched high on the cliffs of Hermanus, overlooking Walker Bay, is the magnificent Birkenhead House, an ultimate coastal retreat. Its elegant beach-house atmosphere reflects the beauty of its coastal setting with rare antiques, maps and art. Most of the eleven opulently appointed sea-facing studio rooms offer expansive vistas of Walker Bay and the distant Overberg Mountains. From the comfort of their residence, guests can look forward to sighting the majestic Southern Right whales that enter the sheltered waters every year to calve.

World-class cuisine, here, is a matter of course. Room service can bring a sumptuous breakfast to the comfort and privacy of your bedroom, or you may enjoy this on the front patio overlooking the expansive Walker Bay. Lavish meals and seafood delicacies are served daily and a selection of menus is available for your special day.

Facilities include a split-level swimming pool in a sheltered courtyard, an infinity pool above the ocean and a gym, spa and treatment centre, while two of Hermanus’ best swimming beaches, warm with the waters of the Indian Ocean, are on your doorstep.

Bosduifklip Wedding Venue

Bosduifklip Open Air Restaurant , a rustic rock restaurant, situated 4 km outside Lambertsbay, is a very unique wedding venue and an excellent spot for veld-dining along the West Coast.

Here, along the old winding road in the heart of the Sandveld, surrounded by ancient rock formations and concave cliffs – the whole caboodle – Bride and Bridegroom, Mums and Dads, Grannies and kids, neighbours and friends, can linger undisturbed, relax and experience a way of life long lost in other places.

Sandveld-and seafood: crayfish and mussels, snoek and sweet potato ,lamb on spit, salads, bread, jams and sweet dumplings-take your pick from the wide variety offered to you-then wash is all down with steaming coffee.

Apart from the above we offer the bridal couple a private wedding ceremony in the roofed area of the restaurant. The roofed area also nestles against the high ancient rock formations and was built over the original kraal walls.

Dine under the starlit sky and be encircled by illuminated rock-formations and views that will set your heart ablaze.

We have 2 open air dance floors where the wedding couple and guests can dance under the stars.

When night falls, our resident astronomer reveals the mysteries of the stars in our state of the art observatory.
